After a hard month of fasting during the Ramadan, there comes a major celebration and festivities to celebrate the ending of the fast. Ireland's growing Muslim population again this year chose to celebrate their Eid Mubarak in the heart of Dublin South Central, by coming together in The Transport Club, Clogher Road, Crumlin.
There is nothing as enjoyable as a Big Party especially if it’s a 90th. To be surrounded by family and friends and they all thinking “I wanna reach the ripe age of 90 years and be surrounded by family and friends, just like this”
I think this band is going about 22 years now, as I remember it starting up and performing in the early days in Crumlin; in fact, it performed in Brickfield Park during a Drugs Task Force week of community celebration way back then.
When it comes to celebrating the end of year activities by the women from in and around Crumlin, then the Christmas Party held again this year in the Sports Hall on Clogher Road was the place to be.
It was a long time coming, but after more than 10 years persevering, after disappointment and community conflict, I managed to save a Childcare Centre for Crumlin.
