The current owners of the Crumlin Shopping centre have allowed it to deteriorate to a disgraceful extent. It is an insult to the local community who have already suffered the loss of the swimming pool that was part of the complex.
The City Development Plan has designated this location as what they call a Prime Urban Centre (PUC). What this means is that this site will have to be developed as a first class urban community centre, incorporating library , health, cultural, leisure and shopping facilities. I have insisted that this development be at the of the regeneration of this area, as shown in the Drimnagh Integrated Area Plan.
