What a fantastic day was had at the Family Fun Day in the Cherry Orchard Equine Centre.
For years I’ve attended the Chapelizod Residents Association A.G.M.s (C.R.A.) and meetings alongside those of the Chapelizod Old Village Association A.G.M.s(C.O.V.A) and various meetings of theirs.
I decided to try to understand the passion of both these voluntary groups who are passionate about protecting the identity and heritage attaching to this most fascinating village so I decided to take a closer look.
I have written about this incredible organization before and yet again I must say that the two recent events organised by RADE that I attended were spectacular.
The most recent event was a play they performed in Saint Patricks Cathedral at the ABSOLUTE Fringe Festival called “The Last Ten Years”.
What a nice gentle way to describe those who might be older than 55 years and who are invited each year to celebrate a Christmas get-to-gather in The Morean Road Hall in Walkinstown.
They celebrate a day of enjoyment with all their “Golden Years” friends and neighbours.
There is nothing as enjoyable as a Big Party especially if it’s a 90th. To be surrounded by family and friends and they all thinking “I wanna reach the ripe age of 90 years and be surrounded by family and friends, just like this”
